Pet Boarding FAQs

We know that leaving your dog behind can be hard, but with our experienced and loving staff, we'll make sure that your pup is well taken care of while you're gone. Dogs Gone County has provided a list of common pet boarding FAQs to help answer any questions you might have.

Will My Dog Get Sick at a Boarding Kennel?

One of the most common questions we get asked is if dogs can get sick at boarding kennels. The answer is yes, but the risk is incredibly low. We take every precaution to ensure that our facility is clean and sanitary, and all dogs are required to have their core vaccines up to date.

If your dog is boarding with us for an extended period, we also recommend getting the Bordetella vaccine, which protects against kennel cough. We highly suggest it for dogs that will be interacting with other dogs regularly.

What Activities Will My Dog Be Doing While Boarding?

At Dogs Gone Country, we believe that every dog deserves a vacation, too! During their stay with us, your dog will enjoy plenty of exercise and playtime. We have a large outdoor play area where dogs can run and play off-leash, and our indoor play area is perfect for rainy days.

We also offer a variety of dog daycare and boarding activities, such as socialization, dog grooming, and more. If your dog is staying with us for an extended period, we'll make sure to mix up their routine so they don't get bored.

What Should I Bring With Me When I Drop Off My Dog?

When you drop off your dog for boarding or daycare, we'll need a few things from you. First, we'll need a copy of your dog's most recent vaccinations. We also require that all dogs come prepared with a leash and collar and any special medications they may require.

If your dog has any food allergies or special dietary needs, please be sure to let us know in advance so we can accommodate them. Lastly, we recommend bringing along a favorite toy or blanket from home to help your dog feel comfortable and relaxed in our facility.
